5 Complaints My Parents Made Against The Music I Love

  1. "Jim Croce: a man and a guitar. That's all you needed back then..."
  2. "Frank Sinatra... when he sang, you could hear all the words..."
  3. "Destroying their guitars? Do they know how much that stuff costs?!?"
  4. "Rap music? Do you want to be black?!?"
  5. "I've heard similar drumming on my African Tribal Music records..."

Comments:
This is too funny. My father and I were always at odds when it came to music. Here's quotes of him regarding music I loved back in the day.

1. In response to GnR's It's So Easy:

"Yeah, it's so easy, so fucking easy - for assholes to get away with not working for a living!"

2. In response to Ice-T's Iceberg:

"Who is this??? You better turn it down before your mother hears this shit!"

3. In response to De La Soul's Roller Skating Song Named Saturday:

"It's beyond me why they would want to do that to a record. Needles aren't cheap either!"

4. RHCP's Higher Ground:

"Well at least they did a half way decent cover. Who the hell is Flea?"

5. In response to Aphex Twin's Come To Daddy:

"Sounds like a synthesized nightmare. You should be listening to Tangerine Dream and not this shit!"

Peace

Your dad knows what Tangerine Dream is?
